  7. 2:15-3:15PM.  Bike down the bike path toward Coligny.  On way, cross under the Pkwy, and go to Shelter Cove.  There are shops and restaurants, see more below.
  8. 3:15-3:45PM.   Continue to bike down the island.  Tip:  the bike path ends on this side of the road prior to Arrow Road and the round about at Greenwood & Pope.  You can cross over the road and cross back at Arrow.  Tip:  go through the back of "The Village of Wexford", the road behind this plaza has a sidewalk to the next destination.
  9. 3:45-4:45PM.  Consignment shops:  My SIsters Closet (1020 William Hilton Pkwy), Koi Consignments (142 Arrow Rd), Three Sisters Resale and More (32 Palmetto Bay Rd).

More tips for A Hilton Head visit

  1. More Suggestions, maybe take several 3dayvacations:     Hilton Head is a weeklong family vacation haven, common place for Ohio families.  Time at the beach sprinkling in your favorite restaurants, bars and entertainment.
  2. You can spend a day or two in Sea Pines, Savannah (see the Bananas or talk a historic bike tour), Bluffton, Beaufort, or take the ferry to Daufuskie Island.

Details & Descriptions

Carolina coffee & crumbs

Carolina coffee & crumbs

Carolina coffee & crumbs

Carolina Coffee & Crumbs is a coffee, breakfast/lunch spot with a large variety of specialty coffees and a bigger than expected menu featuring "Tips & Grits" and a Breakfast Burrito.  You can also get bagels and muffins.

Coco's on the beach

Carolina coffee & crumbs

Carolina coffee & crumbs

Coco's on the Beach is a colorful/fun bar and grill right on the otherside of the dunes at the beach.    Good food, "Buckeye Burger" with Tony Packos pickles and "Ohio Style Fried Bologna" are features in my view.  Endless list of colorful and flavorful cocktails including Hurricanes with different categories (alcohol volumes).

Shelter Cove

Carolina coffee & crumbs

Shelter Cove in Hilton Head is a place to eat, shop and play (charter a fishing boat or rent a kayak).  Dining includes everything from seafood, to pizza, to ice cream.  All kinds of shops.  You can spend a day here or perhaps multiple visits on a weeklong vacation.

Locals only taproom

Locals Only Taproom is a relaxing spot, has a coffee shop feel, just beer instead of coffee.  Friendly people sharing drinks, conversation, and bring the dog.  This is where Side Hustle was located prior to openning the Bank.  So new, it doesn't have a website yet.  Oh, about 10 taps, all local (NC/SC/GA) breweries.

The Bank

The Bank is a Beer Garden right on the bike path with Side Hustle as the brewery and multiple food options.  Side Hustle has a nice variety of beers, the IPA called Make it Rain is fantastic.  Krisit likes the Blueberry wheat ("Payday').  If on a week vacation in HHI, you may find yourself at the Bank mulitple times.  Good place for families, kids can run around and there are several dining options.

Bluffton Farmers Market

The Bluffton Farmer's Market has a long list of local vendors, get some fresh vegatables and fruit but also chocolate, dog treats, coffee and pretty much anything else you want.  On top of the farmers market, there are shops and galleries lining the streets.  You could spend a whole day here, plenty of palces to eat.

Kenny B's French Quarter Cafe

Kenny B's French Quarter Cafe has all the NOLA favorites:  Gumbo, Ettoufee, Jambalaya, and you can get Beignets all day.  The new location is much larger.  It is also a great breakfast spot.

Pickney island

Pickney Island is a wild life refuge.  Highly recommend bringing the bikes so you can cover the island in a few hours.  Ibis Pond is one highlight and walkable from the parking lot.   You will see plenty of Herons, egrets, and turtles, last time we saw an armadillo.

Lincoln and south brewing

Lincoln and South Brewing Company has a great beer line-up, specializing in NE IPAs, and frequent live entertainment from 6pm to 9pm.   They have excellent Chacuterie boards and rotating food trucks.  We saw an awesome late 60's, early 70's cover band, openned with the live version of Whole Lotta Love.

Frankie Bones

Frankie Bones is an old school italian steak house specializing in Prime Rib with good seafood selections as well.  It's the kind of place where if you say you don't like Frank Sinatra, Rocky Marciano comes out of the kitchen and kicks your ass.  Frankie Bones is in the Main Street area with shops visitors can frequent.

Comedy magic cabaret

Comedy magic cabaret

Comedy Magic Cabaret vastly exceeded expectations, Kerry Pollock is a great comedian and magician.  Full disclosure, I don't really care much for magic, but this was so good and the comedy was so good, they won me over.  Seems like this show should be in Vegas, and they could charge a lot more.  Great deal, our show was a full 3 hours of non-stop entertainment.
